Terms of Use

Last updated: August 11, 2026

These terms govern your access to and use of FlyerAlerte (the "service"), operated by FlyerAlerte. By creating an account or using the service, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree to them in full, please stop using the service.

1.Acceptance of terms

By accessing the service, you confirm that you are at least 14 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement. If you use the service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these terms.

Your continued use of the service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the amended terms. The notice we commit to giving is described under "Changes to these terms".

2.What the service does

FlyerAlerte aggregates prices published in the weekly flyers of Quebec grocery retailers and lets you compare the cost of a basket from one store to another. In particular, the service lets you:

  • browse and compare prices from your favourite grocery store flyers;
  • create and manage a personalized basket;
  • receive a weekly summary of the best deals in the categories you selected;
  • identify which store offers the best price for your next grocery run.

3.Price accuracy — important limitation

Displayed prices come from flyers published by retailers and are provided for information only. They may be out of date, contain transcription errors, vary between locations, exclude taxes and deposits, or carry conditions (limited quantity, specific format, loyalty card) that we do not always display.

We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness or availability of displayed prices.

The price that governs is the one displayed in store at the time of your purchase. Always verify with the retailer before buying. We guarantee no savings and accept no liability for a trip made in reliance on a price shown on the service.

4.No affiliation with retailers

FlyerAlerte is an independent service. We are not affiliated with, associated with, authorized by, or sponsored by Maxi, Metro, IGA, Super C, Mayrand, Walmart, Adonis, Familiprix, Brunet, any other retailer whose flyers are compared, or their parent companies.

Trade names and trademarks mentioned remain the property of their respective owners and are used for identification purposes only, nominatively.

5.Your account

You must be at least 14 to create an account. You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email address, or through a Google or Facebook account; the service does not use passwords. If you choose a third-party login, that provider’s terms also apply to that sign-in.

By creating an account, you agree to:

  • provide accurate, complete and up-to-date information;
  • keep access to your account confidential, including your inbox and the sign-in codes sent to it;
  • notify us without delay of any unauthorized access to your account;
  • take responsibility for all activity carried out from your account.

6.Free plan and subscription

The free plan allows one basket, a limited number of items per basket, and comparison across a limited number of stores. The subscription lifts these limits.

Financial terms, renewal, cancellation and refunds are described in our refund and cancellation policy, which forms an integral part of these terms.

By subscribing to a paid plan:

  • you authorize us to charge your payment method for the selected plan amount, at the frequency stated when you subscribe;
  • the subscription renews automatically unless you cancel before the renewal date;
  • payments are processed by Stripe, an external payment provider; we do not retain your card number;
  • you may cancel at any time from My account → Subscription, with cancellation taking effect at the end of the period already paid for.

7.Billing errors

If you notice a billing error, write to us at info@flyeralerte.ca within 30 days of the transaction. This period does not restrict any right the law otherwise grants you, including disputing a charge with your financial institution.

8.Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the service for any unlawful or unauthorized purpose, or to infringe others' rights;
  • attempt unauthorized access to our systems, our servers, or other users' data;
  • extract, copy, resell or commercially exploit service data, including by automated scraping, without our prior written authorization;
  • post or transmit defamatory, offensive or fraudulent content;
  • circumvent free-plan limits or technical protection measures;
  • disrupt the service, inject malicious code into it, or subject it to unreasonable load.

9.Intellectual property

The service, its interface, code, text and graphics belong to us or are licensed to us, and are protected by Canadian and international copyright and trademark law. You receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the service for personal, non-commercial purposes.

You agree not to reproduce, distribute, modify or create derivative works without our prior written consent.

Price data remains facts drawn from documents published by retailers and belongs to their respective owners; our collection, normalization and presentation work is protected. For copyright inquiries, write to us at info@flyeralerte.ca.

10.Availability and changes

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". We may modify it, suspend access for maintenance, or discontinue it, in whole or in part.

If we discontinue it while you are subscribed, we will refund the unused portion of your paid period.

11.No warranty

Subject to the legal warranties the law does not allow us to exclude, we do not warrant that:

  • the service will be uninterrupted, error-free or virus-free;
  • the prices and promotions displayed are accurate, current or available in store;
  • the results obtained through the service will meet your expectations.

12.Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data or business opportunities, resulting from your use of or inability to use the service.

Also to the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you, on any cause of action combined, is limited to the greater of: the amounts you paid us in the twelve months preceding the event, or CAD $50.

Nothing in these terms excludes the legal warranties or the remedies that Quebec's Consumer Protection Act grants a consumer, where it applies.

13.Termination

You may terminate your account at any time from your settings, or by writing to us at info@flyeralerte.ca. Termination results in the deletion of your information in accordance with our privacy policy.

If you are a subscriber, cancel the subscription first, then delete the account: deleting the account does not automatically cancel ongoing billing with our payment provider.

We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, after reasonable notice except in cases of manifest abuse or a security threat. We may also close an account inactive for more than 24 consecutive months, following email notice.

14.Changes to these terms

We may amend these terms. Where a change is significant, we will notify you by email or through a notice on the site at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you are a subscriber and refuse the change, you may cancel free of charge before it takes effect.

15.Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws applicable in Quebec and Canada. Any dispute will be brought before the courts of the judicial district of Montréal, Province of Quebec.

If you are a consumer within the meaning of Quebec's Consumer Protection Act, this clause does not deprive you of the right to bring your action before the court of your domicile.

16.Language

The French version of these terms prevails. La version française des présentes conditions prévaut.
